Soundtrack Planning

Our opening soundtrack should be
. fast
. up beat
. racy
. drums
. exciting
. create a mystical feel
. create a feel of anticipation
. magical
. mysterious
When we were considering a soundtrack for our opening sequence, we looked at various music themes such as the Indiana Jones theme, and the Avatar The Last Airbender theme.
The Avatar theme, in our opinion, was a more appropriate fit for our opening sequence than the Indiana Jones theme, because the Avatar theme creates a feel of anticipation and is mysterious.
Since there will be very little dialogue in the opening sequence; with the only line used being "hello ninja", the music can be louder and this will make the opening sequence fascinating to young children and therefore will appeal to them as an action children's film opening sequence.
Other examples of soundtracks that are similar to ours are the Harry Potter Prisoner of Azkaban opening theme; because its fast paced and exciting, creates a mystical feel and a feel of anticipation, it's magical and it's mysterious, which are all conventions that we would expect from an action children's film theme tune.
Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince's theme is even faster though, and keeps all of the other conventions made in the Prisoner of Azkaban theme, only it creates a more sinister mood, so this might not be as good for our opening sequence as the Prisoner of Azkaban theme, as we want our opening sequence to be more lively and set a more cheerful mood; as opposed to one that will give children the impression that the film will be gloomy and miserable.
