Aang- The Last Airbender. Charcter review

Who is Aang? Aang is a charcter from the new film, The last Airbender, he is a monk/ninja boy who can used the natural enviroment in a such away to defeat the bad guys. I have chosen him because he i very simular to the image and feel we are trying to give to are charcter. The way he fights looks and the message he shows are what we hope to achieve with are ninja charcter.

Mise-en-scene- His costume is different to everyone elses in the scene. This makes him stand out as a main chacter. Also his costume is what you would expect a monk/ ninja fighter to wear but with an unsterotypically paige colour. In this clip he has no props but this is because he is magic. Our charcter we will be more based to the sterotpical ninja image with a sword. In this clip he is in a big dramatic battle. This appears as if it is in a big built up monk land. This is a stereotpical setting. It is where you would expect them to live, attack or defend.

Editing- In this scene thier is very few cuts it is really one big long pan but this is used so you can enphisizes on he cool ninja fighting moves and the way he flips. This is because it attracts the younger audience they will be drawn in the by this they will see the charcter as a roll model want to be him and do what he does. This is a image we want for our charcter. There is good use of slow motion this is again used to show off his moves. Special effects used with the ice and water this is used to add to the magical feel and show his power. Lighting is dull this is because it is a fight scene it makes it seem more dramatic and builds tension. We could use this in our opening.

Sound- Non diegetic music, the music is quick but not that facey it is mytiscal, i assioate the music with a old fashioned knight in shinning armer battle. but because the music has a bit more beat it work for the fight scence and the monk. We could use this type of music for our opening. Diegeic sound, you can hear him breathing this makes it so you can feel the effort he is putting it; it makes it so you feel there you feel the action. We could use this to add action to our opening.

Camera shot and angles- It is one long pan, but uses lots of zooms in and out. this so you can feel the action. It feels like you are there moving along side him avoiding things. It makes you feel like you are there. This could be used to make our audience engage in our opening. zooming in also makes it so you can focus on the cool tricks he does because that is mainly what the younger audience want to see.
