Mise-en-scene research

CU_ninja_uniformcostumes- the costumes for are main character in are opening sequence will be all black clothing and a black scarf over the characters face. This is because ninja's conventionally where it will stick the stereotype, it will show the children clearly the feel and what the film will be about. the costume also shows the mysterious feel. children will instantly relate to the ninja's costume recognizing and have a feeling of what the film will be about. also for the wizard he will be wearing a blue robe to make him look more wizard like, this will help children relate. so they get a magical sense yet to happen. it also sticks with the magical action conventions, and wizards stereotypically wear robes.

location- the location we are going to be using for the majority of our opening sequence will be the forest on the school grounds. we feel that the forest will be an  appropriate  place to film a children's film opening sequence because a forest is a place a lot of children like to go and play. the forest gives a free feeling to the children because it's a place where they can explore and get away from the real world. also the forest will be suitable for ninja's to be in because ninja's are not situated in the town or city they prefer to situate somewhere more rural and where does not have many people.forest-1
props- one of the props we will be using is a sword. we will use a sword because it is the stereotypical weapon of a ninja sticking to the stereotype. it also makes it more easier recognizable to children, the can get a sense that there will be action it will be exciting, makes the want one and they think its "cool".  also in our children's film opening sequence we will be using a "magical staff" for the wizard  to give the sequences an magical effect and feeling. we have given our opening sequence a magical atmosphere because children think that is it very interesting.

lighting- the lighting we will be using is mainly natural light as we will be working outside, we are aiming to get a gloomy affect to add to the magical, mysterious action feeling. children will be able to relate to this because this is what they expect from other films of the same genre.
