U- no discriminatory language or behavior can be portrayed in films like these, unless it is clearly disapproved of. There can be some occasional nudity involved, but there can be no sexual content whatsoever.
In U films, there can be problematic situations that take place in these films, but the resolutions to them must be presented in a way that is appropriate for young children; so it can't be anything that would scare/traumatize them.
Any scary events that take place in these films must be presented so that they are mild, brief, and don't make young children anxious in some way, and the outcome to these events should be reassuring.
No references to drugs should be in these films, as these are considered inappropriate for children's films as children can imitate any unusual character's behaviour in these films.
There must be no realistic and accessible weapons in these films either, as this is dangerous behaviour of which young children can easily imitate.

PG- Any child who is at least 8 years old can watch these films by themselves, and nothing in these sorts of films should disturb them. Parents need to consider whether or not their children should be allowed to watch these particular films if they are younger or more sensitive.
Any references to drugs or the misuse of them must be used as a way of warning young children that this is wrong as a kind of anti-drug message.
Natural nudity may be seen in this film, but there can't be any sexual references or innudendos unless they are minor.
If a more serious issue is shown in a film of this kind, there should be no resolution to it that would be unnacceptable for young children to imitate, and some moderate violence may be used, but it must be used with no detail and must relate to a certain theme (eg; history, comedy or fantasy)

12 and 12A- this is for people from the age of 12 and above. 12A is only for cinema it is the same as 12 other that you can view it under the age of 12 if you are with an adult. It can have really light use of all the requirements it is checked on.
15- is for no one under the age of 15, 15s can contain some amounts of the requirements it is checked on. things like language and violence it can contain more. but sex it is still moderate.
18- is for everyone of the age of 18 and above. An 18 can contain almost everything other than harsh sexual content.
18R- is again for everyone of the age 18 and above. it is the same as 18  other than it can contain any sexual content.
